McCarter Antecedents

ROBERT MCCARTER was identified as the father of John and David McCarter through various records. Both Robert and his as yet unidentified wife were born in Ireland. An interesting clue has been found to at least her first name and burial place. I have recently discovered that there is a Mary McCarter buried directly behind the Strasburg Presbyterian Church. The marker reveals that she died 9 Aug 1844 in the 71st year of her life. Another interesting fact . . . Rev. David McCarter was the pastor of that church at the time.

Children of ROBERT MCCARTER and wife are:

SAMUEL MCCARTER, m. Sarah Cunningham 16 Nov 1815 at Faggs manor Presbyterian Church
